Core Principles
Foundational principles of the Open Manuscript Initiative.
Cross-platform Studio
Open Manuscript Studio is designed as a single scholarly authoring environment that runs across web, desktop and mobile targets without fragmenting the manuscript model or workflow implementation.
Studio Live Collaboration
How invitation acceptance, access control and live co-editing work in Open Manuscript Studio.
Studio Visual Tour
A screenshot-based introduction to the real Open Manuscript Studio interface across desktop and mobile.
iOS and iPadOS Studio
Architecture, file handling, authentication, build validation and distribution status for Open Manuscript Studio on iPhone and iPad.
Long-form Authoring
Large DOCX import, document structure navigation, scalable notes, semantic name indexes, and generated tables of contents in Open Manuscript Studio.
Word-like Manuscript Editing
Manuscript-wide paragraph editing, selection, mobile input handling, and structural invariants in Open Manuscript Studio.
OMI Cloud and Federated Infrastructure
Long-term architecture for scalable OMI services, optional account-linked document storage, institutional data sovereignty, and portable local-first scholarly manuscripts.
Publication Styles and Publisher Profiles
How Open Manuscript Studio separates manuscript semantics, publisher identity and reusable publication styling for PDF, HTML and CSS export, including InDesign IDML style-set import.
Publication Output Validation and Provenance
How Open Manuscript Studio validates JATS, generates deterministic PDF/HTML artifacts, records build provenance, and blocks publication when semantic fidelity is not sufficient.
Scholarly Object Model
Defines the common object model for all semantically meaningful entities in the Open Manuscript Initiative.
